When I heard Judge Coughenour's sentencing decision and come-to-Jesus speech today, my first thought was to be moved. My second was "I bet Michelle eviscerates him."

Yup.

This isn't about a "light" sentence. This is about the right's desperate, pathological need for police-state tactics.

Ressam will get credit for the 5 years he has already been in custody; he may be out and free to do al Qaeda's bidding again in as little as 14 years.
